Rebuilding WidgetWonk

A funny thing happens when you study some new programming framework or language or technique. Insidiously, unexpectedly, you get better at everything else too, stuff you thought you already knew. Studying React and Angular has improved me. It has raised all my standards everywhere. But that’s just programming. If you don’t look back at stuff you wrote 6 months ago and ask—“who wrote this shit?”—then you’re not making any progress.

In the next day or two, I’m going to relaunch WidgetWonk but with most of the little Vue widgets removed. Each one needs to be polished again—unit tests added, health checks run, etc. Plus, I think the website itself will now be built on an ASP.NET backend. I’ve begun rebuilding here: widgetwonk.azurewebsites.net.
